What are the eligibility criteria for this program?

The minimum eligibility requirement is an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in any field with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. Students with both technical and non-technical backgrounds can apply for the program. Please read more in the eligibility section for details. The GRE requirement is waived if you have 2+ years of work experience.

What is the application deadline for the CSU-MCIS program?

The M.C.I.S. program has two different sets of application deadlines: one for hybrid and another for on-campus programs.

Applicants interested in the hybrid program where one semester is in India and two or three semesters in the USA, the deadlines are as follows:
- Fall semester online start application deadline: July 1st (Classes start online in August)
- Spring semester online start application deadline: December 1st (Classes start online in January)

Applicants that want to study all three semesters on campus at CSU in the USA, will need to apply by the following deadlines:
- Fall semester on-campus application deadline: May 1st (Classes start on-campus in August)
- Spring semester on-campus application deadline: October 1st (Classes start on-campus in January)

Can students work during their studies in the US?

Yes, international students on an F-1 visa can work up to 20 hours per week on-campus during the academic semesters. On-campus jobs are competitive, not guaranteed, and typically are not professional-level positions. After receiving admission, students can view campus job openings on the online job board to apply.

What are STEM and OPT?
Plus

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. International MCIS students can apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), which allows them to work for 12 months in the US after completing the program. The STEM designation of the MCIS program makes students eligible for an additional 24-month OPT extension. With up to 36 months more time to work and network in the US, international students can build valuable professional skills and contacts to help them with their career endeavours.

What type of online learning experience should I expect?

Students in the online MCIS program can join lectures live with the on-campus MCIS students or watch the recorded lectures (available by the next day) to participate in online learning. Courses are taught by CSU faculty. Some of the MCIS classrooms are equipped with our transformational engagement platform, Mosaic, where students in the online class can choose to participate with their webcam and microphone like they are in the actual class! Do you accept a 15-year education from India?

Yes, students with 15 years of education with relevant grades and experience are eligible for this program, but it’s at the university's discretion. The profile of the applicant will be evaluated thoroughly.
